2025 - Anarchist's Design BookThree-legged backstool

Photos are pre-paint. You can see the painted result further down. I love the form of this stool and I would totally make another one but steam-bending the backrest instead and some slight changes in width of the backrest. It has a very thick seat. Visually, this is one of my favorite builds.

2025 - Brian Boggs Berea Arm Chair

Mine is on the right. I made this in a class. It's incredibly comfortable for a wooden chair and surprisingly light-weight. I learned a lot about using a drawknife and spokeshave to round out parts. It was also my first steam-bending experience. My first un-aided steam bending experience was with the next chair. I added tung oil later on to give it a slightly darker look.

2025 - Anarchist's Design Book Side Chair

I enjoyed painting it in a matching set with the backstool but giving it some slight differences like the green accents and I shaped the chair and leg tenons differently. It was also my first successful try at steam-bending and it made a big difference in comfort. The outer sticks and the front left leg were rived from red oak logs. The rest of the oak was kiln-dried.

2025 - "Build a Chair from Bulls%$t" Chair (BS Chair)

The chair from a small book called "Build a Chair from Bulls%$t" with the intention of making chairs accessible via home center materials. I built this one with my father and it is kept at his house.

2026 - Leitrim Chair #1

Named after a style of chair found in country Leitrim of Ireland. A documentary in the 1980s documented John Surlis building this chair without any machines, and so it is also known as the "Surlis Chair." I was drawn to how chunky it is.
